On Employment

People are either underemployed, unemployed or employed. Underemployment is something that is most common on people living in third-world countries. They have a degree but because of the low salary in their own countries, they go abroad to have a better income. Doctors become nurses, teachers become domestic helpers, accountants become sales clerk, lawyers become office assistants. It is a pity, yet these people have no choice.

It is really a blessing to get the job that you want and earn enough money to give you a comfortable life. For the first few years of my life, I had to settle with low paying jobs just to make ends meet. I am now an HR Manager and I really wonder how other people get to be so poorly educated.

I have seen a lot of resumes and conducted a lot of interviews, yet only a few pass our standards. Even people from good universities does not seem to be equipped with the right knowledge and attitude to cope with the present times. There are communications graduate who cannot speak and write English. There are Computer Technology graduates that only know the basic computer stuff. It is such a shame and a pity. We may have a lot of job openings but not a lot reach the passing mark.
